Outlines
The KASAPA project is a model of environmentally and socially compatible tourism.
We are therefore not orientating ourselves towards the global commonplace standards of conventional tourism, but endeavour to take up typical Ghanaian modes and resources, without overtaxing our guests. Hence
- not a hotel which would stand out unsuitably in its surroundings, but the small village-like resort "KASAPA Centre" employing traditional styles and modes of construction
- no dissipation of natural resources, but an exemplary employment of appropriate Eco-friendly technology (clay buildings, thatched roofs, solar electricity, bio-dynamic sewage system, modern hygienic compost toilets, careful waste management)
- no estranged jobs under foreign management, but an African family firm enabling the KASAPA staff members to display personal responsibility and commitment. Accordingly, they relate to the KASAPA guests more openly and proficiently than in a conventional hotel
- no overtight scheduled travelling programme, merely "zapping" along various sights, but variable and flexible offers, meeting our guests' interests even in smaller sub-groups and allowing enough time for spontaneous discoveries
It is certainly a big ecological deficiency of KASAPA's travelling programmes that you can reach your holiday destination Ghana only by plane. On the other hand it is very important that development of tourism in Ghana isn't entrusted solely to the organisers of conventional mass tourism.
Apart from that, you could join the atmosfair-programme (www.atmosfair.de) offering measures to compensate for the green-house gas emissions caused by your flight.
